Despite the current challenges of the market, our Community Relations department worked diligently in Quarter 3 to drive patient flow to each of our clinics, enhance the visibility of our brand and the services we provide.
Creating critical partnerships with Managed Care Organizations and executing online and in-person events in Quarter 3, the Community Relations team successfully connected new patients to oral health education, dental appointments, and other life-supporting services and organizations in the local area.
The Community Relations Team has enhanced key partnerships, most notably with organizations like BlueCross and BlueShield, Molina Healthcare, which both serve the same patient base as Familia Dental and share our mission to enhance access to healthcare. Familia Dental’s community relations efforts focus on making it easier, more accessible, and more affordable to visit the dentist.

Quarter 3, 2021 – Community Relations Event Summary
1. BlueCross BlueShield of New Mexico partners with Familia Dental for “Dental Days”
In New Mexico, our team launched “Dental Days” at all seven Familia Dental clinics, collaborating with BlueCross and BlueShield of New Mexico. The collaboration gives BCBSNM members direct access to timely appointments at the nearest Familia Dental location. During these “Dental Days,” Familia accommodates a high volume of BCBSNM members eager to get seen for dental care.
We accomplish this by dedicating a full day of appointments only for BCBSNM members. In addition, BlueCross BlueShield alerts its members through phone calls and other outreach activities about the “Dental Days” collaboration with Familia Dental. We mainly target BCBNM members who have not used their dental insurance benefits to increase benefit usage and motivate people to look after their oral health through visits to the dentist.
On top of receiving dental care, participating BCBSNM members gain access to COVID/Flu vaccines with BlueCross’s Care Van facility, which parks on-site at each of the “Dental Days” locations and dates. A total of 101 BlueCross members received dental treatment across Seven Dental Days. All were able to take advantage of benefits they had not yet used. Dental Day initiatives will continue into November in New Mexico and many of our practices throughout the Midwest.
2. Molina Healthcare of partners Familia Dental for “Community Baby Showers”
The Community Relations team at Familia Dental also hosted “Community Baby Shower” events with local partner organizations in Indiana and Wisconsin. The participating markets include Terre Haute, Racine, and Green Bay. A total of 275 families registered for the events. Molina Healthcare was a major partner in this initiative, among many other valuable partner organizations. All attendees received diaper bags filled with life-sustaining supplies, information from community resources, and donated gifts. The event aims to connect new and expecting mothers with community organizations’ aid and assistance, including access to dental appointments and oral health education.
3. BlueCross BlueShield Of Illinois partners with Familia Dental on “Community Health Fairs”
In Springfield, Community Relations Coordinators organized “Community Health Fairs” with BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois and the Boys and Girls Club. Participants received a Thanksgiving produce box that included a turkey, free hair cuts, free winter coats, hats and gloves, snacks, and a visit with over 20 vendors in the community as well as a DJ and photobooth.
150 families attended, and event organizers distributed 200 meal boxes to the community.
